Long time no see!

This blog has been DEAD for a while. Let’s see where I have been within these 2 months: Kerala, Pune, Ajanta & Ellora caves, and Delhi. I just came back from Delhi yesterday. That was my first time up to North India where sounds a bit scary for a south Indian like me. I was lucky to live in Hyatt Hotel and Shangri La Hotel for my 3-days trip in Delhi—for free. Hehe…I lived with my friend who’s a flight attendant and that’s why I got such luxury places to stay.

My trip to Delhi was perfect until the last day I went to the domestic airport waiting for flying back to Hyderabad and “Air Deccan” told me that they cancelled that flight!! It was 9pm and I was alone in the airport. I was shouting at the manager and questioning why didn’t they text me the flight got cancelled. I tried to get a free hotel from Air Deccan—that’s too naïve--I realized they don’t really care about the passengers. The manager just said,” You can go to the Airport Manager.” “They can give me free hotel?” I asked. “Maybe,” said the manager. I went to the Airport Manager who managed to irritate me again. He was too busy at stamping something and didn’t even try to solve my problem. At that moment, I finally realized this situation happens a lot for Air Deccan and that’s why they are not bothered. Their attitude is like “The flight got cancelled. Then take the next one tomorrow but please understand that our system is very slow now so I can not book the ticket for you. The only thing we can do is nothing. Compensation? Don’t make jokes!”

I put my bag down and start calling my friends asking if anyone has friends living in Delhi. I didn’t want to go to a hotel because I have to find a person to complain. At that time, I remember I met the wife of Taiwanese ambassador when meeting with Dalai Lama. I kept her number so I called her and ask to stay for one night. They were really nice and then from that moment, everything becomes smooth again.

As soon as I arrived at the house of that ambassador, I found “Vansant Vihar” is a area where most of the ambassadors from all over the world live. The wife told me she would go shopping with other Taiwanese so I can go with them. “ You can ask the servant to cook you any breakfast you want tomorrow morning,” the wife told me. The next morning I woke up and the servant cooked me Taiwanese breakfast which I had have since I came to India. I read Taiwanese newspaper and enjoyed breakfast, feeling like being at home.

The wife and I went to pick up some CEO’s wives and we took a private car with driver to shopping around Delhi in the afternoon--that’s another luxury day. This is life. You never know what is waiting for you.

I will attach some pictures here later.
